Samsung Launches Series 9 Ultrabook in India Priced @Rs 1,02,990
After the successful launches of several products including Galaxy Note 2 at the IFA 2012, Samsung has launched the Series 9 Ultrabook in India at a price of Rs 1,02,990. The announcement regarding the launch comes within a couple days after the Windows 8 version of the product was showcased at the IFA expo in Berlin.
Commenting on the launch, Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Samsung Mobile and IT was quoted saying, "The new Samsung Notebook Series 9 represents the ultimate in Samsung craftsmanship towards precision engineering and premium design. The new Series 9 embodies the originality and heritage of its predecessor while eliminating unnecessary factors. The refined aerodynamic design of the new Series 9 represents the best of Samsung's design with top performance and functionality."
Series 9 Ultrabook houses a 13.3 inch display with 1600 x 900 pixel resolution. Measuring 12.9 mm and weighing around 1.16 kg, the Ultrabook is the thinnest notebook in the world.
Further, it is equipped with 1.9GHz Intel i7 Ivy Bridge processor, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD and 1.3MP webcam. The device has a plethora of ports – micro HDMI, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, VGA and a memory card reader.
Moreover, it packs a 6-cell battery, which can provide about 6.5 hours of life, claims Samsung.
Though a Windows 8 based Ultrabook was showcased at the IFA, Samsung has launched a Windows 7 based Ultrabook in India. However, once the Windows 8 is released on October 26, the ultrabook can be upgraded to Windows 8.
Apart from the Series 9 Ultrabook, the South Korean tech giant has also launched Series 5 550P notebook with a quad core Intel Ivy Bridge i7 processor, 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics card, 2TB hard drive, full HD display for 17 inch model and blu-ray drive. It is priced starting @Rs 62,990.
The other one, Series 3 350 is a low end product equipped with a third generation Intel's Ivy Bridge i7 processor and a battery offering 7 hours life. It is priced starting at Rs 48,490.
