Tablet PC prices slashed in the Indian market
If we look at the last one year’s sales list, we can see that the tablet market has a very exponential sales figure. We saw the introduction of many new models, by marketing giants as well as new companies, into the market. We can very well say that 2011 was the year of tablets.
For those who are on the look out to buy a new tablet, the year 2012 brings some very good news. With stiff competition between many tablet manufactures and also with the introduction of many budget friendly tablets like the Aakash in the Indian market, many other tablet manufactures have made a huge cut in the price of their tablets. There are even discounts of up to Rs.13, 000 available. BlackBerry, HTC, Motorola etc all have reduced the tablets prices in order to attract more prospective buyers.
The most notable price cut was made for BlackBerry’s PlayBook. They have offered a price slash of 50%. That is the 16GB Wi-Fi only version which was priced at more than Rs.20, 000/- is now available at a mouth watering price of just Rs.13, 490/-. Other BlackBerry models have also got a price discount. The 32 GB model is now available with a price tag of about Rs16, 500/- and the 64 GB PlayBook is available for Rs.24, 500/-. Originally this offer was only till 31st December 2011 but due to the good sales figure the company has extended the offer to 7 more days.
HTC Flyer when launched came at a very hefty price of around Rs.40,000/- in India. Even though this was a very amazing tablet with good features its price tag kept many from even making it a choice. Now the company is offering HTC Flyer with a price of Rs.24, 000/-. That is some heavy discount that the company made. So this is your chance to pocket the tablet packing in 1.5 GHz processor, Android GingerBread 2.4 operating system and comes in a small compact size with a 7 inch screen.
Motorola Xoom also comes with a reduced price. Motorola has not officially announced this discount but the tablet is already being sold by online retailers with up to Rs.10,000/- discount. This offer is applicable for both the Wi-Fi as well as the 3G versions. The Wi-Fi only version now retails for around Rs.21, 500/- while the 3G version retails at Rs.25,000/-. The tablet features a 1GHz dual–core NVIDIA Tegra processor and runs on the latest Android Honeycomb version.
