With the tablet pc sector flooding with more and more devices the manufactures are trying to bring about improved and better versions of their tablets so that they can stay on top of their business .One major factor that the consumer consider while buying a tablet is its size .The more compact and light weight tablets are always preferred to their heavier counter parts.
Toshiba has announced the launch of their newest tablet Toshiba Excite. It would be launched by January mid next year. According to the company this will be the worlds thinnest as well as the lightest tablet.

Toshiba Excite is made in candy bar form factor .The tablet has dimensions of 10.08 mm x 6.93 mm x 0.30 mm .The device weighs in at 558 gram. That is amazingly light for a 10.1 inch tablet .The device being this much compact gives the user ease of carrying it around.
The display is of capacitive type and it has multi touch support .The screen resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels. There is a light sensor in it so that the brightness of the screen can be automatically adjusted according to the ambient light conditions .The main camera in the gadget is of 5 mega pixels. The secondary camera is kept at the front top position. It is of 2 mega pixels and is mainly intended for making video calls.
Toshiba Excite is powered by a TI OMAP 4430 processor which runs with a clock speed of 1200MHz.The system memory of the tablet is 1024 MB. The device comes in two internal memory sizes. The user can either opt for the 16GB version or the 32 GB version .There is also scope for expansion of the external memory by the addition of microSD type memory cards.
The tablet runs in Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. The device is Wi-Fi enabled and has USB connectivity. The USB connector is micro USB type. There is also an integrated Bluetooth in the tablet to ensure wireless transfer of data with other Bluetooth enabled devices.
Toshiba Excite’s price will be known only when it makes its debut in stores early next year.
