Toshiba joins quad core Tablet PC race
Tablets running in Google’s Android operating system were invited with open arms. Soon the tablets started coming in from all directions boasting powerful processors, Graphics accelerating units, LTE technology and many other cool features. Eventually such high end tablets became a common device.
Then news came about Tablets running in Intel processors and again much hype followed. 2012 is the year which would mark an end to all this hype with the release of powerful tablets, primarily those powered by quad core processors. Such tablets will be launched soon, most likely in this quarter of the year, and among the manufacturers is none other than the World-renowned laptop manufacturer Toshiba. Reportedly Toshiba is busy developing an Android tablet which is powered by a Tegra 3 quad core processor.
Toshiba isn’t new to the tablet sector as it launched an Android tablet called Toshiba Thrive before, which runs in Android Honeycomb operating system. One of the blog sites reported that they couldn’t get any details about the processor but came across a few details concerned with the clock speed of the tablet.
As per the reports, the Toshiba tablet will be a powerful performer to go head to head with the likes of powerhouses like Asus’ Transformer Prime. Toshiba’s new Tegra 3 tablet is the best so far as some experts seems to have find evidence of data claiming that this tablet has the highest Tegra 3 clock speed of about 1400 MHz. Obviously, such a powerful tablet’s specifications have a high probability for a possible leak. So Toshiba seems to be keeping everything about the tablet, confidential. However, it has been confirmed that Toshiba will be bringing the tablet to the CES this month, and then might disclose a few details.
Toshiba’s new Android tablet powered by the Tegra 3 1.4 GHz processor looks extremely cool with a sleek and stylish build. With the Toshiba Thrive running in Android Honeycomb, there is a big chance that this new Tegra 3 tablet will also be running in Android v3.2 Honeycomb and there is of course a possibility for an OS update to the Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0 Android. With the powerful Tegra 3 processor, there will also be a rise in the tablet’s price tag. But if you value performance more, then this tablet would probably be the best choice at this time of the year.
