Datawind announced the Aakash tablet in late 2011. It made a revolution in the tablet market by introducing the cheap Android tablets. Now, the company has announced the launch of Ubislate 7+ and 7C tablets. These are 7 inch low cost devices with price in India of Rs 2,900 and Rs 3,999 respectively.
Both the devices have similar features and specifications. The Ubislate 7C has 4 GB of internal flash memory while the 7+ has only 2 GB. Both are powered by The 800 MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and have 256 MB RAM. They sport a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display of 800 x 480 pixel resolution. They also have Wi-Fi and GSM support.
Datawind claims that the 3200 mAh battery in these tablets will offer a usage of 180 minutes. Ubislate 7C and 7+ are powered by the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. They have micro USB slots to expand the memory.
The consumers who are pre-booked the Ubislate 7+ from the Datawind website will receive their devices soon as the shipping has started. The retail availability will happen after few months. The Ubislate 7C will be available from the end of next month.
