Wammy 7, A low cost tablet from WickedLeak: Rs 5,300
It seems that low cost tablet market is now witnessing the launch of one model each day. Consumers are getting lost between the models being launched at such a swift pace. WickedLeak is the latest to join this tablet market segment by launching Wammy 7 tablet. This Android powered tablet is sure to give a stiff competition to the Government’s Aakash tablet, with its pretty good features and affordable price tag.
WickedLeak Wammy 7 features a 7-inch capacitive display with multi-touch screen up to 5 points. It has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The processing efficiency of this new tablet is handled by 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A10 All Winner processor. A built-in 512MB of RAM further adds to the processing speed. Apart from standard internal memory of 4GB, you can also extend the external memory with the help of a microSD slot up to 32GB.
There is a 400 MHz GPU unit provided to manage graphics performance in this low cost WickedLeak tablet. This would support flash Apps, HD videos and Interactive Apps. This is something appreciable in a low cost tablet and can give this an edge over some of the similar players in this segment. You can also enjoy 3 G features with the help of a dongle. As any other model, it has standard Wifi connectivity option too.
WickedLeak Wammy 7 features a front end VGA camera which supports video chat. You can play videos with 1080p and one feature which is worth mentioning is the ability to play video in dual-screen display. As the device runs on Android ICS, you can access numerous free and paid apps from the Google play store which adds value to this low cost tablet.
Other entertainment options include mic or earphone sockets and HDMI connectivity for watching videos on TV. It even supports USB-OTG gyroscope for motion processing. The new low cost tablet is powered by 3000 mAh Li-on battery which is expected to support an operating time of around 5 hours.
WickedLeak Wammy 7 can be purchased by spending only around Rs. 5,300/-. The tablet comes in a white outfit, and its design is also pretty neat. The product can be purchased directly from Wicked Leak Inc website. The product is initially planned to launch targeted at schools, corporate houses and professional institutions.
