WickedLeak Wammy Series: India’s first Jelly Bean Android Tablets Specs Rundown

The budget tablet manufacture Wickedleak is all geared up to release India's first Android Jelly Bean tablets. It has been reportedly informed that the company has confirmed its plans to launch Android OS Jelly Bean based Wammy series tablets in the fourth week of September. 

 

The Wammy series will includes the tablets, namely, WickedLeak Wammy Ethos, Wammy Plus and Wammy 7. The range is now available in India via company website from Rs 5,249 onwards. 

 

The tablets feature 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A10 All Winner processor and also a 512 MB DDR3 RAM. While explaining how they chose this processor, one of the company spokesperson said, “With its unmatched combination of high performance, compatibility with 3G connectivity and ultra-power consumption, the A10 chip was a natural choice for our tablets.” 

Furthermore, graphical and multimedia capabilities are driven by 400 MHz GPU. HD video streaming is also possible at 1080p. The company sources also claimed. “Long battery life, leading-edge features and a wealth of local content make the Wammy Series Tablets an ideal product for the Indian market. Building on our success with Low cost tablets in India, WickedLeak is pleased to be a leader in bringing Android 4.1 tablets to the market, to offer an Android 4.1 tablet at such an affordable price point.”

What about Existing Wammy users?

Further, company sources have also confirmed that existing Wickedleak Wammy series tablet users will be able to upgrade their tablets to the latest android Jelly Bean operating system soon. According to a report, the upgrade can be done with the help of ROM image and OTA instead of connecting through a personal computer. The existing version of operating system in these tablets is Android 4.0 ICS operating system.
