Amazon Offers Rs 1,000 Discount on Kindle Line of eBook Readers
There's just a week left until Republic Day and ecommerce giant Amazon has introduced a Rs 1,000 discount on all Kindle e-readers. It seems the best deal shoppers have seen in a while.
At Amazon.in website right now Rs. 4,999 gets you the latest-generation Kindle device. Apparently, the device was launched in India last year for Rs. 5,999.

Amazon also slashed the price of its Kindle Paperwhite to Rs. 9,999, down from Rs. 10,999. The 3G variant, meanwhile, is now available for Rs 12,999, down from Rs. 13,999. The previous generation Kindle, in the meanwhile, is retailing at Rs. 4,999.
It's unclear when how long this special offer on the entire Kindle range (Kindle, Paperwhite, and Kindle Paperwhite 3G variant) will last. As such, it's unclear whether it's online only or also available at select retail outlets, where Amazon's Kindle devices being sold.
The new pricing for the Kindle range could uplift sales in India, where the trend of reading digital books are fast catching up. Well, for now the special offer on the entire Kindle range of e-readers seemed to be a tempting opportunity for users in India.
The ecommerce giant Amazon has been heavily investing in India. According to a report, Amazon is looking to sell goods worth $2 billion by the end of the current fiscal. Currently, Flipkart and Snapdeal are the two most popular ecommerce sites in India.
