List of Smartphones and Tablet Launched For the Week Ending March 17

This week, the global smartphone arena witnessed the long awaited launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 at New York City. But, Galaxy S4 is not the only launch that has sizzled the industry as the Indian market faced several launches. As always, the native based tech manufacturers have come up with several products to score scorching sales from the booming market and demanding consumers.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Galaxy S4 packs a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a stunning resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 ppi, Exynos 5 Octa 5410 processor, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage, a micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB expandable storage, 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Infrared port and a 2,600 mAh battery.

Further, Galaxy S4 has a plethora of new and innovative software features including Story Album, Group Play, S Translator, Samsung Smart Pause, Samsung Smart Scroll, Air View, Air Gesture, S Voice Drive, Samsung Optical Reader and more.

 

Nokia Asha 310

Asha 310 has a 3 inch WQVGA scratch-proof capacitive touchscreen display with 400 x 240 pixel resolution, 128MB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 2MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP support, micro USB 2.0 and an 1,110 mAh BL-4U battery offering 17 hours talk time and 25 days standby.

Priced at Rs 5,601, Asha 310 comes with features such as Nokia Xpress Browser, Nokia Nearby, Nokia Life, free EA games and more for enhanced user experience.

 

Wickedleak Wammy Titan 2

Wammy Titan 2 boasts a 5.3 inch HD IPS multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MT6589 processor with Power VR SGX544MP GPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 12MP rear camera with LED flash and support to Panoramic Shot, 5MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, 3G and a 2,300 mAh Li-Ion battery offering a decent backup. The next generation Wickedleak phablet is priced at Rs 13,990.

Karbonn Titanium S5

Karbonn Titanium S5 packs a 5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,000 mAh battery. As of now, there is no word on the internal storage support, but it is expected to be around 4GB as in other budget phablets. The device is priced at Rs 11,990 and is listed on Snapdeal.

Lava Xolo X1000

Lava has launchd Xolo X1000 boasting a 4.7 inch Sharp HD 2.5 D edge curved glass LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 312 ppi pixel density, 2GHz Intel Atom Z2480 processor accompanied with 400MHz PowerVR SGX540 GPU, Android 4.0 ICS, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera with BSI sensor for better low light photography, 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot for expandable memory support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS with A-GPS and a 1,900 mAh battery of undisclosed backup. Lava has priced Xolo X1000 at Rs 19,999.

Gionee Dream D1

Recently, one of the Chinese manufacturer Gionee has launched their new smartphone in the market, Gionee Dream D1 at Rs 17,999.

Specwise, the smartphone comes with a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 32GB with micro SD, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.

 

Lava Iris 349, Iris 351, Iris 355

Lava International has launched three new budget smartphones based on Android in this Iris lineup - Iris 349, Iris 351 and Iris 355.

Iris 349 sports a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 1GHz single core processor, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 113MB internal storage, 256MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1,400 mAh battery.

Iris 351 houses a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display presumably with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 1GHz single core processor, 2MP rear camera, 256MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 16GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1,400 mAh battery.

Iris 355 boasts a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 1GHz single core processor, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 512MB internal storage, 256MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1,400 mAh battery.

 

iBall Edu Slide

iBall has launched a Jelly Bean phablet with dual core processor at a price of Rs 12,999. Edu Slide is an educational tablet with a 10.1 inch multi-touch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 1.5GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor, Mali G400 GPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
