GOQii Fitness Band Officially Launched in India with Personalized Trainer

Here's India's own answer to fitness bands being launched by a number of mobile manufacturers in recent times. According to reports, India's first wearable fitness band called GOQii has been officially launched by a new startup that also goes by the same name.

Vishal Gondal, who founded Indiagames, which was sold off to Disney for $100 million in 2011 has co-founded GOQii - a range of smart fitness band wearables that aims to change the way we look at wearables these days.

GOQii is not only offers a fitness band, but also comes with a personalized coach. And that's something none of the other fitness devices in the market have been able to integrate so far. The new band not only keeps track of your daily activities and calories burned, but there are experts and coaches present who trGOQii Fitness Bandy and make sense of this data and help you make "sustainable and incremental changes towards a more healthy and active lifestyle". Moreover, there's a GOQii app present to aid the band in connecting with the experts and the coaches.

Moreover, a significant part of the whole GOQii experience is guided by Karma points which users can earn by meeting their daily goals. The points can then be used to donate to noble causes with GOQii already partnering with Oxfam India as its Karma partner.

"There is no right and wrong with GOQii. It is about removing certain negatives and adding some positives to your life," Gondal explained. "The GOQii is centered around the coach and the band is a just a tool for data collection"

Apart from that, Gondal also states that the new fitness band is different from the other bands that are currently available in the market. The band itself acts as an advanced fitness tracker sporting a full touch display and an ultra-lightweight water resistant build.

Moreover, the band syncs wirelessly with a smartphones using Bluetooth LE and includes a watch, a motion sensor for tracking steps, calories, distance and time. The band is set to be available for Rs. 5,999 via a six month plan including the band and the coach. Apart from that, the GOQii fitness band with an advanced 12-month plan will cost Rs. 9,999.
