List of Smartphones and Tablet Launched For the Week Ending March 10
This week, the tech arena in India has been sizzled with the release of the long delayed Lumia 620 based on Windows Phone 8 and also on two other high-end Sony smartphones - Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. Also, over the week, the domestic have also splashed the market with low of budget offerings.

Nokia Lumia 620
After much delay, Lumia 620 was released in India at Rs 14,999. The handset can be purchased from the online retailers including Nokia Shop. Lumia 620 boasts a 3.8 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 1,300 mAh battery. Lumia 620 will come in Magenta, Yellow, Cyan, White and Black color variants.
Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL
Sony released its two latest smartphone offerings - Xperia Z and Xperia ZL in India at Rs 38,990 and Rs 36,990. Both Xperia Z and Xperia ZL pack a 5 inch full HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, quad core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 13MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera for video calling, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G LTE.
Xperia ZL is slightly heavier than Xperia Z and has a 2,370 mAh battery as compared to the 2,330 mAh battery in Xperia Z. However, Xperia Z is water resistance and dust proof, while its counterpart is not.
Lava Xolo Q800
After a plethora of rumors, Lava launched Xolo Q800 online at a price of Rs 12,499. As far as specs are concerned, the handset packs a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 1.2MP front camera for video calling, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with a micro SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Wickedleak Wammy Passion Y HD
With the launch of Micromax Canvas HD, almost all the handsets are trigerred with the idea of launching quad core Jelly Bean phablet. One such manufacturer Wickedleak has come up with Wammy Passion Y HD housing a 5 inch HD IPS multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, micro USB 2.0 and a 2,800 mAh battery.
Karbonn Retina A27
Karbonn also seems to have released an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean budget smartphone - Retina A27 at Rs 9,090. On the specs front, Retina A27 houses a larger 4.3 inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 256 ppi pixel density, 1.2GHz processor, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, micro USB 2.0 and a 1,800 mAh battery offering 168 hours of backup.
Idea Zeal
Telecom service provider, Idea Cellular has launched an Android smartphone dubbed Idea Zeal at Rs 5,390. Speaking of specs, Zeal has a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, 3MP rear camera, 256MB RAM, 512MB internal storage, micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi, a-GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and a 1,300 mAh battery.
Lava E-Tab Connect
E-Tab Connect, the 3G voice calling tablet houses a 7 inch WVGA display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz single core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G and a 3,000 mAh battery offering up to 3 to 4 hours of backup. Further, the tablet will be based on Android 4.0 ICS operating system. The tablet is priced reasonably at Rs 9,499 to compete with the other budget offerings in the country.
Pantel Penta T-Pad WS708C
Penta T-Pad WS708C comes with a 7 inch mutli-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 3D support, 1GHz Cortex A9 processor with Mali 400 3D GPU, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI port, mini USB port and a 3,000 mAh battery of undisclosed backup. When it comes to pricing, the tablet is priced at Rs 6,999.
Swipe Halo Value
Swipe Halo Value is also priced at Rs 6,999 and houses a 7 inch mutli-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1.5GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB port and a 3,400 mAh battery.
Zync Quad 8.0
Zync Quad 8.0 is priced at Rs 12,990 and comes with an 8 inch screen with 1024 x 768 display resolution, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, Wi-Fi and a 5,800mAh battery.
Zync Quad 9.7
Priced at Rs 13,990, Zync Quad 9.7 boasts a 9.7-inch screen with 2048 x 1536 resolution, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, Wi-Fi and an 8,000 mAh battery.
