Be careful while using Google Nexus 6P: It's hard to repair, if needed
Google powered Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone is one of the latest Nexus phone which was launched recently as the successor to the Nexus 6 which came from Motorola's kitty last year. Ever since its launch about a month back, the phone has been making it to the news for receiving a mixed bag of reviews. The phone has now received teardown treatment by folks at iFixit, who specialize in taking phone apart, piece by piece, to score it on the basis of its repairability and hardware components. Let's take a look at what made iFixit Nexus 6P score a mere 2 out of 10, while LG Nexus 5X got 7 out of 10 on the repairability scale.
According to iFixit, the Nexus 6P smartphone is hard to repair as it is difficult to be opened without damaging the glass camera cover. It is mainly because of the unibody design of the phone that one will have a tough time in replacing any component, if broken or damaged.
In case the display of the phone gets damaged or breaks, one will have to tunnel through the entire phone to replace the display set up which will be extremely tough. Moreover, the rear panel and battery are glued to the device with a strong adhesive which will make it difficult to take it off without damaging other parts of the phone. Taking it positively, Nexus 6P seems sturdy and durable.
Huawei Nexus 6P brings impressive features and specs that include a premium metal body design, impressive hardware specs, fingerprint scanner and more. The phone was launched in India earlier this month, with its price starting at Rs 39,999.
In terms of specifications, the Nexus 6P smartphone features a 5.7-inch WQHD screen with Gorilla Glass 4 display protection, and is powered by Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It sports 12.3-megapixel rear camera with additional features.
Other features in the phone include USB type-C port, fingerprint scanner, LTE support, 3450mAh battery. The phone is available in 32GB and 64GB variants. It runs Android Marshmallow version which is a key attraction of the phone.
