Of late, Xiaomi has been introducing a plethora of new products catering to different needs in the market. Of course, smartphones will remain the backbone of the company but it doesn't seem to stop there. The Chinese tech giant has announced that it will make its debut at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) next year with an "all-new global product".
It has an event scheduled on 5 January 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada and the press invites for the same should be rolled out soon. Xiaomi took it to twitter to tease about its debut, the company's tweet read "Hello Vegas! Will be coming to @CES with an all-new product at our global launch. Any guesses? Place your bets now!"
There's also a link to Xiaomi's CES webpage in the tweet which reads "At its CES debut, leading technology company Xiaomi will be showcasing an exciting new product that illustrates how it is pushing the boundaries of innovation."
Although there's nothing much that can be decrypted from the tweet or the description, considering the fact that not many vendors unveil smartphones at CES, the same can be expected from Xiaomi. Moreover, the tweet points at an innovative 'new global product,' so chances are that the company will launch a smart home product.
Additionally, according to a few other reports published online, the company may release a VR headset compatible with Google's DayDream VR tech or an Android Wear-powered smartwatch.
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi already has a big portfolio which includes Air Conditioners, Water Purifiers, Air Purifiers, Rice Cooker, Vacuum Cleaner, 4K Mi Box, Mi Portable Mouse and more.
