Looks like Oppo is another mainstream handset manufacturer after Sony to launch a camera lens attachment. The forthcoming camera lens attachment from Oppo looks similar to the Sony QX series. Recently the leaked images of the NFC-powered Oppo branded camera lens setup surfaced on Weibo.
Again, going by the looks, the Oppo smart camera lens reminds of the Sony QX10 and Sony QX100 smartphone lens cameras originally launched at IFA Berlin last year, alongside the Xperia Z1.
This is certainly not the first time we've heard about Oppo coming up with the smart camera lens setup. But today the leaked images of external camera lens attachment clearly show the "smart lens "complete with Oppo branding and an NFC logo.
Going by the images, we can clearly see the Wi-Fi enabled lens and a 10x Zoom. Also, the camera lens attachment will feature a power button, which could mean that it could be independent.
Previous rumors suggest it will feature a microSD card slot, 16-megapixel imaging sensor and optical stabilization. If these images are to be believed, Oppo might be preparing to launch the camera lens attachment in coming days to come.
In the meantime, it would be really tough to say whether the Oppo smart lens will be compatible with other Android or iOS devices.
There's no information as when Oppo will officially introduce the "Smart Lens" in the market.
