Samsung Smartwatch Designs Surfaces Online: Hints At What it Might Look Like

Until now, it was known that Cupertino-based titan Apple is busy crafting iWatch. But, wait a little...Samsung too standing next in the queue to beat Apple. Really, that's an interesting piece of news. It is learnt that the makers behind Samsung Galaxy S4 is working on some future devices. Apparently, Samsung Galaxy watch is one of them.

Earlier this year, GizBot has informed you that Samsung is working hard on a watch project that is primarily meant to target Tim Cook run Apple. Currently dubbed as "Samsung Altius", the futuristic watch device was spotted in some Korean message board. Even now, it is not clear whether Samsung will use Java platform or Android OS to power watch project.

As Samsung is moving to Tizen OS in the near future, there could be every reason to see Galaxy watch being powered by either Android or Tizen OS. It is suspected that Samsung favors Android over Tizen OS for the upcoming watch project. The reveal has come at the time of the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Is Samsung to announce so -called Galaxy watch near the global launch of Galaxy S4? Can one expect announcement coming this May? Only time will tell.

Bloomberg (via UnwiredView) is reporting that Lee Young Hee, Executive VP, Samsung Mobile, accepted the fact that Samsung is indeed working on a secret watch project.

"We've been preparing the watch product for so long. We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them".

Like Samsung, another major player Apple is ready to dig gold in the upcoming market i.e. of smartwatch. The hype surrounding these devices is artificial or in real one could see wearable computers taking a center stage. Google, on the other hand is making every effort to commercially available Google Glass in the late 2013.

However, these above mentioned devices could be priced way above certain popular devices you are looking to buy in the near days. Analyst predicting that smartwatch market could explode like Apple iPod did back in early 2000s.

Last year, Japan's Sony has started selling SmartWatch, but due to its half-baked nature the device didn't sold well. The makers behind Sony Xperia Z have now come up major update for its smartwatch.
