Just a day ago, Google released an update for Android Wear devices and now Samsung's Gear Live, Samsung's one and only Android Wear smartwatch, is beginning to receive an update to Android Wear 4.4W.2.
There are some features that the update will bring about in the Gear Live which most of Samsung's Tizen-based wearable devices already have. These new features that get added in the Gear Live after installing the new update are support for GPS, the ability to play music locally from the watch by pairing a Bluetooth headset, which was briefed earlier when Google announced the update. Apart from these, the option to hide notifications on the watch face will also be added.
However, the update doesn't seem to be available globally as yet, so might have to wait for sometime. Users can download the OTA file and update manually.
LG G Watch and Moto 360 devices started receiving the update last week itself.
Talking about the specs of the Gear Live, it is the first Android Wear smartwatch from Samsung and comes with 1.63-inch 320x320p Super AMOLED display. Very much like LG G Watch, it comes powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage. Samsung has also included a 300 mAh battery, heart-rate sensor, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and the usual compass, gyroscope and accelerometer sensors in the smartwatch.
