Samsung has been boldly promoting its latest Gear S smartwatch as a fashion accessory. Now, Samsung has shown off several custom versions of the Gear S at the Runway Show in New York by Diesel Black Gold.
Samsung has collaborated with Diesel Black Gold to "design exclusive show pieces featuring the Samsung Gear S," notes SamMobile. In fact the creative team of Diesel Black Gold created a collection of unique pieces in different shapes, colors and details of the interactive wrist-technology device.
This is not the first time Samsung has tried to merge fashion and technology. Not too long ago the company announced a crystal-studded strap for the Samsung Gear S, in association with "Swarovski. This time around, the Gear S seems to be more appealing, given the unisex nature of straps designed by Diesel Black Gold.
Samsung Gear S - What about specs?
Samsung Gear S offers a 2-inch curved Super AMOLED display having a resolution of 360x480 pixel resolution. Under the hood is a dual-core 1GHz processor, paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt storage and is backed by a 300mAh Li-ion battery.
On the biggest advantage of the Gear S is the fact that it can be used independently, all thanks to a built-in 3G connectivity. The smartwatch is running on the company's own Tizen OS. The watch is also water proof and dust resistant.
So far there's no word on whether Samsung has any plans to release this special edition intelligent watch globally. Samsung's Gear S smartwatch is an arch rival to just announced Apple Watch.
