Samsung is a pioneer in the smart camera market segment with its Android based Galaxy Camera. And, it seems like the South Korean tech titan is prepping to introduce a mirrorless smart camera soon.
According to a recent by Photo Rumors, an alleged image of the Samsung NX2000 mirrorless camera has been leaked online. Also, the report claims that the camera might come with an electronics viewfinder and an articulating screen.
As of now, the LCD display does not reveal any information and hence, it is to be seen if the camera will be based on Android or Tizen OS. As the image reveals the presence of a home button on the camera, it is clear that it will be a smart camera based on some OS. Also, there is an icon at the top showing the Wi-Fi connectivity of the NX2000.
Back in March, the same source posted a photo on Google+ showing the EXIF data of an image taken by the NX2000, but, the photograph was removed shortly.
Also, an earlier report suggests that Samsung is prepping to release the sequel of NX1000 in 2Q13, but stiff the information on the mirrorless camera NX2000 remain scarce.
If these rumors and speculations turn out to be authentic, the rumoured NX2000 would be the world's first Android based ILC after Polaroid iM1836. The benefit of having an Android-based platform in a camera is that users can download various apps to enhance their cameras' capabilities.
