Over the past few months, there have been tons of rumours surrounding the arrival of a round-faced intelligent watch from Samsung. In fact, Samsung has even filed patents for round-faced smartwatches, but we haven't heard much about the same lately.
Of course, this is all just rumours for now, and we're taking with a grain of salt, but SamMobile has been a reliable source for Samsung rumours, so we wouldn't be surprised if these rumours turned out to be true.
SamMobile sources claim the watch will have a crown-shaped power button on the side and a rotating bezel ring around the face. The report, however, says Samsung isn't looking to offer the Apple Watch-like features; instead, the power button will be used for switching the device on and off.
Furthermore, it's being reported that the watch's power button could be used to set alarms, zooming in and out and moving between apps and menus.
SamMobile states that Samsung's upcoming round-faced flagship watch is codenamed internally as Orbis. Reportedly, the intelligent watch is speculated to get unveiled at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March 2015.
Many of the smartwatches today are round-shaped, so we wouldn't be too surprised to see a Samsung-made watch sporting a round-shaped design. As of now, LG, Motorola and Alcatel offer premium round-faced intelligent watches.
So far, Samsung hasn't shared its plans to unveil a new watch in the coming days. But, according to several rumours and media reports, Samsung could introduce an answer to the Apple Watch at MWC 2015, which takes place in March in Barcelona.
