Ahead of the holiday season, which is to begin soon and the festive season is spread all over. With the same festive spirit, tech manufacturers across the globe have come up with several products for the consumers at this time of the year.

Further, the low cost tech manufacturers in India as well have launched a plethora of devices including smartphones and tablets in order to pile up the wishlist of the consumers who are planning to buy smartphones and tablets this New Year.

Hence, this weekend Gizbot has come up with its usual job of listing out the recent launches that have happened over the week.

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Grand smartphone two versions - single SIM and Dual SIM versions. As Galaxy Grand is designed on the lines of Galaxy S3, the device will have all the exclusive S features including Direct Call, Smart Alert, Popup Video, Multi-Windows & S Voice, which are present in Galaxy Note 2 as well.

Galaxy Grand packs a 5 inch multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a very low resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, dual core 1.2GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage capacity, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, A-GPS, DLNA and a 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery, which will offer decent backup.

As of now, Samsung has not disclosed any details regarding the price and availability of the device, however, analysts have already predicted that it could be priced between 800,000 won (approx. Rs 41,000) and 100,000 won (approx. Rs 51,000).

Following the launch of a tablet - iSlide i6516, iBall has made an attempt to expand its Andi smartphone lineup by launching a dual SIM smartphone - Andi 4.5H for Rs 12,490.
According to the company, the handset comes with impressive specifications such as a 4.5 inch qHD IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, 0.3MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM and micro SD card slot supporting expandable storage.

Further, Andi 4.5H is packed with connectivity features including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB 2.0 and 1,600 mAh battery with a decent backup. Moreover, Andi 4.5H comes with pre-installed apps including Whatsapp, Facebook, Opera Mini, Nimbuzz, Zomato, IBNLive, Moneycontrol and CricketNext.

iBall has priced Andi 4.5H competitively at Rs 12,490, thereby positioning it as a mid-range smartphone.

Envy X2 features a 11.6 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 1.8GHz Intel Atom dual core Z 2760 processor, 2GB LPDDR2 memory, 64GB eMMC NAND flash drive, micro SDHC card slot for expandable storage support, HDMI port, two USB ports, 1080p front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera and a battery offering up to 14 hours backup.

The Windows 8 based hybrid is priced at Rs 59,990 will be available for purchase from January 2013.

Karbonn Mobiles seem to be in an aggressive spree of launching several products as the company came up with a tablet by the name Smart Tab 7 Tornado and a phablet called A30 in the last week.

So soon, Karbonn seems to have come up with a 9.7 inch tablet with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, thereby being the first Indian manufacturer to launch a Jelly Bean tablet with 9.7 inch display.

Smart Tab 10 Cosmic features 9.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot for additional storage support up to 32GB, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, USB port, HDMI port, 3G via dongle and 6,000 mAh battery of undisclosed backup.

On the pricing front, Smart Tab 10 Cosmic is availabie is yet to be launched, but, it can be preordered by paying Rs 10,280.

Edge Infotel has come up with an Android ICS tablet in India dubbed as E501G with 3D support in order to take over the other budget tablet offerings by the India based vendors.

Edge E501G comes with complete Game Center support and hence, it is a boon for gaming enthusiasts with its 3D graphics support. Further, it is also preloaded with apps like Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Hanuman Chalisa, Hindu Calendar, British Red Cross, HDFC & ICICI Bank apps, 3D video games and 3D movies with HD quality.

Priced at Rs 5,499, Edge E501G is available in two color options - Black and White. Consumers purchasing the device will get a Sleek Zip pouch worth Rs 499 for free.

Following the launch of UltraTab A800, Zen Mobiles has come up with another tablet - UltraTab A700 3G at Rs 9,499. Zen Mobile has tied up with HomeShop18, a popular online retailer site in order to distribute the tablet.

As far as specs are concerned, UltraTab A700 3G sports a 7 inch 5 point multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display, 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable storage, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 1.3MP front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, 3G via dongle and SIM support, voice calling, Bluetooth and a 3,000 mAh battery of undisclosed backup. 

Zen has launched the 3G tablet at Rs 9,499 making it reasonable in the budget conscious Indian market.

Kobian, a computer peripheral manufacturer in India, who sells tech products under the brand name Mercury has launched a dual SIM Android ICS tablet dubbed as mTab StreaQ with a price tag of Rs 11,500. Earlier, Kobian launched Mercury magiQ - a dual SIM phablet with Android 4.0 ICS.

Talking about specs, mTab StreaQ packs a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 1.2GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable storage, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM support, HDMI port, inbuilt GPS and inbuilt FM.

Kobian has priced Mercury mTab StreaQ at Rs 11,499 in order to make it competitive in the already haunted low cost 7 inch Android tablet market in India.
