Sony Brings Bravia 4K TV Range in India With Price Starting Rs 3,04,900
Sony India has brought the Japanese giant's 4K televisions portfolio in the market. Dubbed as Bravia X series, the super smart television range has been brought to India in two variants - 65 inch and 55 inch - which will be available at MRP of for Rs. 4,04,900 and Rs. 3,04,900 respectively.
According to the company's press release, the 4K BRAVIA screen contains 8 million individual pixels at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels of resolution. That's four times more detail than a Full HD TV. Further, the TV's 4K X-Reality PRO processing engine up-scales any standard definition content to 4K resolution irrespective of its source.

The X9004A series of 4K LED TVs will come with TRILUMINOSTM Display LED backlighting, which is used in the TV to achieve wider color gamut and provides a far more natural and vivid viewing experience with a heightened sense of depth. Also, the 4K X-Reality PRO, the processing engine up-scales any standard definition content to 4K resolution, irrespective of its source from TV broadcast, web videos, Blu-ray discs to even low resolution smartphone clips. The company has also informed that 4K content will be made available from Sony Pictures in the form of Blu-ray discs with 4K re-mastered logo. These discs will have extra information encoded into them, which the 4K X- Reality Pro can use to deliver fantastic 4K picture quality.
Moreover, the X9004 series is claimed by Sony to come equipped with World's first Magnetic Fluid Speaker design for TV. Basically, Magnetic Fluid Speaker technology allows a thinner, more efficient loudspeaker that offers faithful reproduction of high-fidelity sound.
Offering seamless connectivity, the X9004 Series offers a wide range of connectivity options to enhance the user experience including NFC feature to make the 4K TV compatible with Xperia smartphones. Then, there's a built in Wi-Fi support, direct 3G dongle plug and more.
It has also been announced that for 2013, Sony will launch 20 new BRAVIA models including the 4K BRAVIA TVs. All the models in W series offers Wi-Fi Connectivity along with Smart connect features such as One-touch connect, direct 3G dongle plug in, MHL and TV SideView for great user experience.
Meanwhile, the newly launched range of TVs will be available across all Sony Center and major electronic stores across India.

According to Mr. Kenichiro Hibi, Managing Director, Sony India, "Over the years, Sony India has established market leadership in flatpanel televisions category and we aim to further strengthen this position with the newly launched line-up of 4K BRAVIATM televisions, in addition to the other series announced this year. BRAVIA is the largest category contributor towards overall sales of Sony India and contributed 35% towards the company sales in FY12. With the launch today, we are targeting a bigger market for 4K TVs by introducing the technology at a very strategic price-point. We will be increasing our BRAVIA marketing budget to Rs. 250 crore and channel counters to 7,000 in FY13".
