With the final launch of the two new handsets from the company, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, now out of the way, Sony has more good news for all its fanboys. And you will be happy to know that it involves the wearable tech sector.
At Thursday's Xperia event, Sony revealed that it is currently planning to release the Android Wear-powered SmartWatch 3 alongside the SmartBand Talk in December in the country. And December is just knocking at the door.
The Sony-made SmartWatch 3, that was unveiled alongside the Xperia Z3 family at IFA earlier this month, offers a 1.6-inch 320×320 square display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, offers 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The smartwatch also boasts NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. It is juiced by a 420 mAH battery, and is water-resistant.
Set to be offered in Black and Yellow color variants, the new Sony SmartWatch 3 will arrive with the Google Now integration. Apart from that, it can be paired with Android smartphones running Android 4.3 or above.
The Sony SmartBand Talk, on the other hand, comes with a 1.4-inch rectangular display with 296x128p resolution. As expected, the wearable is water-resistant. It is juiced by a 70 mAh battery, and offers Bluetooth 4.0 and a microphone.
The device is set to be sold in Black and White colors. And similar to the SmartWatch 3, the central unit is easily removable and can be attached with separately sold straps. However, the pricing of these new Sony wearables is unclear for the time being.
