Luxury Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer, best known for its high-end watches, is reportedly planning to unveil its intelligent watch at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2015.

If reports are to be believed, TAG Heuer is pretty much serious about its forthcoming smartwatch. It has been suggested TAG Heuer's smartwatch could give touch competition to Apple's watch in the high-end segment.

The watch is expected to be powered by Intel, sources have told Business Insider. Notably, TAG Heuer's smartwatch will probably look similar to the Withings Activite with traditional style.

Unlike the Moto 360 which has a color touch screen, TAG Heuer's watch will look similar to a regular wristwatch with more emphasis on luxury and style. It is believed that the watch will include basic ‘Smart' features including an inbuilt accelerometer, sleep tracking and Bluetooth 4.0.

Back in September, Jean-Claude Biver, head of LVMH's luxury watch brands, commented on the design of Apple's Watch. "This watch has no sex appeal," said Biver, according to The Economic Times. "It's too feminine and looks too much like the smartwatches already on the market."

Originally TAG Heuer was rumored to be working alongside Apple during the development of the Apple Watch.
