Xiaomi Set to Enter Smartwatch Business Soon, Says Reports
As far as the Chinese are concerned, the Indian sentiment has always been filled with doubts over whatever products coming out of there. However, Xiaomi is an entirely different ball game with the Chinese company setting new records in smartphone sales.
However, with the smartphone business up and running for the company, it is now increasingly looking to tap into the lucrative yet still nascent smartwatch business. In fact, the company has already hinted that it may consider making a smartwatch soon.
Xiaomi's global vice president, Hugo Barra, recently said in a YouTube video that "you'd be absolutely amazed if you'd see all the things that we experiment with here at Xiaomi". He even mentioned that smartwatches were among the things the company has experimented with, although adding that they are yet to decide on whether the company will be launching one in the coming months.
Xioami, as you may already know, has already entered the wearable devices market with the launch of MiBand. And in case you didn't know, the MiBand is a water resistant fitness and sleep tracker. However, this is the first time that the company has actually mentioned a smartwatch.

While nothing has been made final for the time being, there are chances that the company will actually foray into the serious wearable market in the coming days. Especially with its smartphone business booming, we see any reason why not.
