Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja to Come to Windows Phone 8
Windows 8 launch on October 26th is expected to be a joyous occasion for gamers too as it will see the launch of pre-installed Xbox games app. Latest reports suggest that Windows 8 will include popular games such as ‘Angry Birds’, ‘ Angry Birds Space’ and ‘Fruit Ninja’. Fruit Ninja is a popular fruit-slicing game designed and developed by Halfbrick Studios. Microsoft has already announced the release of 40 games. 29 games among have been developed by Microsoft Studios itself. Some of the games are designed to be compatible with Xbox console only. Company has stated that the games will made available for download from the Games app store which is expected to be included in their latest operating system.
In a recent Blog Post from Microsoft Windows Team, the company claimed Xbox to have received support from Rovio, Miniclip, Gameloft, ZeptoLab, Glu Mobile, and Half Brick Studios. Larry Hyrb, who is part of the Microsoft’s Xbox team, stated in a Blog post, “Many games will be available starting October 26th with ongoing new releases coming through Holiday and beyond”. He also added that gaming portfolio would be enhanced and that they will focus on delivering an innovative mix of fun-to-play titles which can be played on any Windows 8 PC, laptop or tablet.”
It is still not clear whether the games being announced for Windows 8 would work properly with Windows RT OS. Windows RT OS was designed by Microsoft especially for tablets and PCs powered by ARM-based chips. Some of the popular games among the list of 40 games announced include ‘4 Elements II Special Edition’, Wordament, The Harvest HD, Big Buck Hunter Pro, Dragon’s Lair, Gravity Guy, Monster Island, Shark Dash, Shuffle Party, and Zombies. With this latest development, it is clear that Microsoft is trying to provide more options for users who enjoy playing games in their devices.
