Archos announced the availability of their latest gamepad in European market for a cool price tag of 149.99€. The company sources are also hinting at a US launch in early 2013. The new gamepad looks like a hybrid of a gaming console and a tablet.
It will be featuring Android Jelly Bean OS and a host of Archos apps. The console has built-in mapping software that can map any virtual controls of games to the physical controls of the console; this would ensure that any game can be played on this gamepad.
The new Archos Gamepad has a touchscreen display at the center with around 14 physical control buttons placed on both sides. Using this gamepad, users can access games from Google Play store and Google mobile services galore. The console has a 7 inch display screen with a screen resolution of 1024x600 pixels.
Working on the Android Jelly Bean version, it is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core CPU. It comes up with Wifi connectivity option and HDMI port. Games could be projected to high definition bigger screens thus having a much bigger gaming experience. Along with 14 physical buttons, the console has dual analog thumb sticks too.
Users in Europe will get a hand to this amazing gaming console for a retail price of 149.99 Euros and it may take some more time for users in US to get a hand to this console.
