According to reports, developer Epic Games has announced a brand new Unreal Tournament game which will be made by Epic in collaboration with its gaming community. The game is currently set to be made completely free, although not "free to play".
"Work on the future of Unreal Tournament begins today, and we're happy to announce that we're going to do this together, with you. We know that fans of the game are as passionate about Unreal Tournament as we are," the official blog for the same states.

The post also states that Epic has created a small team of UT veterans that are beginning work on the project. "From the very first line of code, the very first art created and design decision made, development will happen in the open," Epic says.
Also, fans who have an Unreal Engine 4 subscription can participate in this new crowd-funded development of the next Unreal Tournament. The game is also said to come supporting fan-created mods after its launch. And since it's completely free, there will be no microtransactions.
