After stirring the telecom market, Reliance Jio is now preparing to take on the DTH sector. However, the company has not made any official announcements as of yet.
Even before the new entrant could enter the DTH sector, the existing DTH service providers have started to pull up their socks and have introduced several new and attractive offers, which is rumored to be their move to take on the upcoming Reliance Jio DTH service.
Does this mean the existing DTH providers including DishTV, TataSky, Airtel DTH and Act Fibernet are already scared of the Mukesh Ambani-headed company?
What Can Reliance Jio DTH Can Bring About?
As per our earlier report and other media rumors, Reliance Jio might announce it's DTH service officially on December 15 or maybe early next year. There has not been any official announcement on the same yet.
It is also rumored that the company might introduce Android-powered set-top boxes to disrupt the other DTH service providers. Along with that, the set top boxes by Jio is said to be bundled with Google Play Services, some pre-installed apps and games and will also come with 300+ channels along with a "catch up" feature.
Well, these are just rumored news, and Reliance Jio has not made any official announcement on the same.
DishTV Introduces New HD Channels
DishTV is focusing more on the regional language content in order to cover every corner of the country including the rural India. Hence, the DTH service provider will introduce several new HD regional channels for its users.
Not only that, DishTV has now merged with Videocon D2H to become India's largest DTH service provider. The question here is, has this move been taken to counterattack Reliance Jio from taking on the market?
Airtel DTH to Improve in the Coming Days
Airtel Digital TV has been one of the big players in the broadband industry. The company's DTH service has been said to be the key growth driver of the company's B2C portfolio and has recorded 21 percent growth recently, which might give a tough fight to the other DTH providers, especially the new entrant Reliance Jio DTH.
However, Airtel's DTH service is pretty expensive. But as per rumors, Reliance Jio will offer it's DTH service at half the price as compared to Airtel.
How About TataSky?
TataSky has been one of the best service providers in the country and provides 65 exclusive channels, which is more as compared to the other DTH providers.
