Sony announced new Bluetooth wireless speaker additions in its home audio system. The latest Sony speakers feature beefed up specs and come with multi-room audio setup system. The SRS-ZR7 is a high range offering and the SRS-ZR5 is slightly lower range.
At the high end, Sony has unveiled the SRS-ZR7 system with four-speaker, which has HDMI connections, can playback hi-fi audio and stream music using Google Cast and Spotify Connect. It features S-Master HX tech to reduce added noise. The speaker system can handle multi-room audio, and can be controlled via Sony's SongPal application.
Sony SRS-ZR5, on the other hand, is a smaller speaker that can be paired with the SRS-ZR7 for better audio and stereo sound. It has HDMI ARC port, Bluetooth connectivity and NFC pairing support.
Sony has also announced three new speakers dubbed as the SRS-XB2, SRS-XB3, and the GTK-XB7, in its Extra Bass line of products. The SRS-XB2 and SRS-XB3 have hi-fi audio playback, and connectivity support via NFC and Bluetooth. The SRS-XB3 also features a USB port to let users charge smartphone with the speaker.
The SRS-XB2 will last 12 hours on a single charge, while the SRS-XB3 last 24 hours on a full charge, according to Sony. Other features in speakers include water-resistance. Both will be available in black, red, and blue colour options.
The GTK-XB7 is a big speaker supports NFC and Bluetooth connectivity, and has USB port for direct playback via smartphone or tablet. This speaker features its own lights that light up according to the music it is playing. You can change its lighting settings, pair it with other speaker using Sony SongPal app.
Sony has mentioned that its new wireless speaker lineup will be available this spring, but has not shared pricing details.
