LeTV X40 Smart TV with Quad core chip and 2GB RAM now official
LeTV has been on a roll by expanding their electronics portfolio before their foray into foreign market. The Chinese company recently launched a set of TVs in China with the cheapest one priced at $266. Having a look at the pricing you may already be wondering it just a TV at a standard price, but what's the big deal?
The 40 inch TV mentioned above isn't an ordinary Full HD TV you were expecting at this price. In fact the LeTV X40 is smart TV boasting of a Cortex A9 quad core chip with cores clocked at 1.5GHz each coupled with a Mali 450 GPU. Add to that the presence of a 2GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage and 16kw speakers backed by LeTV Magic 2.0 sound system. The imaging department is handled by a MACE-PRO image processing sensor.

Now you can pretty well understand why analysts at Gizbot are so excited about the latest smart TV from the Chinese company. And do remember that LeTV isn't another run of the mill Chinese company who just dumps cheap products with squeaky builds and service issues into the market. Rather their attention to details and carefully crafted engineering can be well seen in their Le Super Phone lineup.
In India buying a TV of same caliber from a reputed brand would cost at least double the price LeTV is charging in China. There's also a larger 43 inch variant of the TV available at $297 (Rs 19,500 approx.).

With LeTV planning expansion to India by end of next year, we may find a few of its TVs in the Indian market. And in case we do, then this new company will give bigger players like LG, Samsung a run for their money.
