Xiaomi Mi 4 Gets Windows 10 ROM: 5 Simple Steps to Install

Earlier this year, the Redmond giant Microsoft has announced the collaboration with the Chinese handset maker Xiaomi to release the Windows 10 ROM for the Xiaomi Mi4 Android handset. With this decision, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is the first device apart from Microsoft Lumia to get Windows 10 ROM.

Anyhow, it is worth mentioning that the ROM will be compatible with the LTE version of Xiaomi Mi 4. However, the ROM is still in the beta version and will be having some minor bugs which will be removed with frequent bug reports.

Just to recall the Xiaomi Mi4 sports a 5 inch Full HD (1920x1080p) display upfront. The 2014 Xiaomi flagship device is powered by a 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 SoC and 3GB of RAM.

In terms of camera the Mi4 comes with a 13MP rear and an 8MP front facing Selfie snapper. It runs on Android KitKat 4.4 with the company's latest MIUI 7 on top.

Today, we will guide you on how to install the Windows 10 ROM on your Xiaomi Mi 4 device.

Step 1

First of all you need to download the ZIP file from either one of the source link EN.MIUI forum or Windows insider.

Before downloading the Zip file, the user must sign into the respective forum. After signing in procedure, just download "MiFlash20150601.zip" file on your PC.

Step 2

After download completion, extract the file and tranfer that folder where you can easily access. Click on the folder to initiate the installation procedure. When the security message pops up press "Install this driver software anyway"

Step 3

After the installation on your PC, you will find MiFlash tool icon on your desktop, if not head on to "All programs" list and paste its shortcut to desktop

Step 4

Now connect your Mi4 LTE device to the computer and open the MiFlash tool. And follow the instruction accordingly to get Windows 10 OS on your device

In case if you want MIUI, you can return back by simply re-flashing the MIUI on your Mi 4 device.
