How to clear the cache in FireFox browser?
Firefox browser is considered to be one of the most popular web browsers across the world. One of the major features that differentiate it from other browsers is its user-friendly characteristics and also it is much faster than its competitors. It’s for sure that every user who is reading this article have Firefox installed in their computer!
But the topic here deals about the ways in which cache can be cleared in Firefox web browser. For those who don’t know what a ‘cache’ really is, here the definition is! Cache is nothing but the images, scripts as well as other parts of the web pages that are stored at the time the users browse them in their Firefox internet browser.
Clearing the cache and freeing some memory space is always a good practice and the fact is that it can be easily done. The only thing users have to do from their side is to just follow the below mentioned steps in order to clear the cache.
Manually clearing the Cache
Open a new Firefox web page
Click on the ‘Tools’ option if the user is using a Windows XP computer or else the users will have to click the ‘Firefox’ button
Then out of the several options given, select the tab titled ‘Options’ that is present at the bottom of the tools menu
Now the users will have to select the ‘Advanced’ tab
The users will now be able to see four options namely General, Network, Update and Encryption
Select the ‘Network’ tab
Now the users can see a ‘Clear Now’ tab that is located on the right side corner of the ‘Offline Storage’ option
Click ‘Clear Now’
Finally Click ‘OK’ in order to close the options window that the users have opened
Automatically Clearing the Cache
In this method, the cache will be automatically cleared once you finish accessing the websites in the Firefox browser and close the window. Let’s take a close look on how this feature can be automatically enabled.
Open a new Firefox web page
Click on the ‘Tools’ option if the user is using a Windows XP computer or else the users will have to click the ‘Firefox’ button
Click the ‘Privacy’ tab
Now the users can see the ‘History Section’ in which the ‘Firefox will’ should be selected as ‘Use Custom Settings For History’
Then the users will have to check mark that denotes ‘Clear History when Firefox closes’
In the right side of ‘Clear History when Firefox closes’ option, the users can see a ‘Settings’ tab
Click ‘Settings’ tab
Now the users will have to check mark the box that has been placed beside the ‘Cache’ tab
Now click OK to finally close the Settings for the Clearing History Window
Finally click OK inorder to close the options window
