How to migrate information from Facebook to Google+?

If you have spent a lot of time in Facebook one of the most popular social networking sites, it is quite sure for you to know that it is not at all an easy task to move the information from Facebook to Google+.

Exporting Facebook Information

Sign in on user’s Facebook account

Navigate towards Facebook Account Settings

Then click on Learn More

Users will now have to click on ‘Download Your Information’

Enter the password

Then click on the ‘Continue’ button

Users will have to click on the ‘Download Now’ tab inorder to download the Zip files

Users will then have to extract the files

Then users will have to open the ‘index.html’ file inorder to verify all the information

Import Photos

Users will have to download Picasa in order to share pictures in Google+

Install Picasa

Open Picasa

Now the users will have to add Facebook photos folder that have been downloaded on to Picasa

Click ‘Scan Once’ radio button inorder to scan the folders once

Pictures will now be imported to Picasa

Locate the albums

Users will now have to select ‘sync to web’ tab

Log in to the web albums

Log in with Google+ account

Now the users will have to verify the upload settings

Select Change Settings

Modify the settings

Check mark ‘Use the above settings’

Select ‘New album Visibility’ as Private

Finally go back to Picasa and click on the ‘Sync’ button

Users photo will now be uploaded on the background

Share Photos on Google+

Sign in to Google+

Select ‘Photos from your Circles’

Then select ‘Your Albums’

Click ‘Share Album’

The album will now be made public and a link will be posted in the stream

Import Videos

Open the videos folder in Facebook Export

Sign in on Google+

Select Profile

In profile, select Videos

Click Upload New Videos

Drag videos from computer to the browser

Importing Facebook Friends

Go to login.yahoo.com

Sign in with the user’s Facebook account

Navigate towards address.yahoo.com

Select Tools

Then select ‘Import’

Select Facebook

Click on ‘Done’ and the import will take place automatically

Then again go to Tools and then click on ‘.csv’ file

Click on ‘Export Now’ option corresponding to Microsoft Outlook

Again log in to the Gmail account

Click ‘Contacts’

Select ‘More Actions’

Then select ‘Import’

Browse and select .csv file

Then click on ‘Import’ tab

Select a new group on to which users wish to import the contacts

Now the users will be able to find the imported contacts in Google+ under the ‘Find and Invite’ option
