How to run Android apps on PC?
Applications on the mobile platforms like iOS, Windows Phone and Android are compact and are designed wonderfully. Unfortunately, these apps are not available for desktop. So, if you want to play a game like Cut the Rope or to check the latest tweets, you will have to use your phone.
Won't it be nice to do all these right on your desktop? You can do this using the remote desktop application. The application has to be installed on your tablet or smartphone. But, this is a complicated process. There is an alternative way that is simple.
Bluestacks
This is a magical software that allows you to run the Android apps on PC. It supports Windows, meaning you can run Android apps on your Windows notebook, tablet as well as PC. It is to be noted that some of the applications need acceleration from the graphics hardware. So, if you are running them on an old notebook or PC, some of the apps might not function well.
Download and install Bluestacks
Go to the Bluestacks website and download the application. There are a couple of versions for download. One is the online installer that will download data from web and the other one is the offline installer that is bulkier. It's less than 100 MB and should be done within 15 minutes on an average connection. The installation will not take more than a couple of minutes.
Searching and installing apps
After installing Bluestacks, installing the apps is the next step. Bluestacks has three app stores bundled with it. They are the Google Play Store, Amazon App Store and GetJar. You can also browse the apps manually. Choose the required app and click on the Download link. You can start the application by clicking on the My App icons in the dock at the top.
Running apps
You can run the apps in a mobile phone or tablet like view. To change the layout of the application, click on Settings and on Manage App size. Choose the desired size and click on Done. Bluestacks will restart to adopt the settings.
