How To Transfer Contacts, Music, Apps, Photos, SMS From Android to iPhone

With the launch of Apple iPhone 6 and the upcoming iOS 9, many are planning to switch for Android powered smartphone to the latest iPhone. But many face issues while moving form Android device to iPhone especially when it comes to transfer all the data without losing them.

Apple's upcoming mobile platform apparently comes with a new app called "Move to iOS". The app wirelessly transfer all the data including contacts, messages, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars and wallpaper from Android device to the new iPhone.

It's easy to transfer contacts, mails and calendars from Android to iPhone by simply using the Google account. Here is how to do it.

  • Open the Settings on your iPhone. 
  • Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  • Select Add Account and tap on others
  • Now, tap on Add CardDAV Account and fill the following details.
  • Server:
  • User Name: Enter your Gmail ID
  • Password: Enter your Gmail password
  • Description: Enter description of the account (e.g. Gmail or Personal email)

After filling all the details, select Next on top of your screen.


Backing up your memorable moments is essential. You can use third-party apps to transfer your pictures and videos from Android device to your new iPhone. Google Drive, DropBox and Google Photos are the best possible Cloud-based ways by which you can transfer all your stuff to a new platform.

It is easy to transfer all your music files through several third-party Cloud-based applications. Or the second best way is to transfer a library of MP3 files using iTunes. All you need to drag your music files from your Android phone to the PC. Now navigate to the Music folder and drag and drop all of the music files you want from here to a new folder on your computer.

Download iTunes from Apple's website, and then go into your Library and select Music files, then drad and drop them onto the Music view in iTunes. Now, plug-in your iPhone sync with entire music folder from iTune to your iPhone.


There is no easy way to transfer SMS to your new iPhone. But, there are several free apps like Super Backup, that can backup all your SMS and Contacts.

On the other hand, you can transfer selected text messages to SIM card. This can be the easiest way, only if your SIM supports the iPhone.


Well there is no way to move your applications from the Android platform to the iPhone. Most apps are available on either the Apple app store or Google Play Store. You can download either free or paid apps from App store.
