Google has listed number of new features in its 'product forum' for Android Wear 5.1.1 update, let's have a look at the key features.

Always-On Screen, Always-On Apps

The Always-On Screen feature is already available in most Android Wear watches. This feature allows users to see time even if the watch is in sleep, without tapping, twisting or shaking.

Now with the latest update, Google expanded this feature to app, so user can view the apps as long as required. Google also says that, this feature is perfect for running and navigating.

New Launcher and Wrist Gesture.

Simply swiping left from the watch face, users can now access apps and contacts. While Wrist Gesture allows to scroll between cards and respond to specific navigation with just a simple flick of the wrist.

Draw Emojis

Now Android Watch users can send emojis to their contacts in response to text, instant message or emails by just drawing them on watch screen. The watch will recognize the emoji and will send it via the current messaging app.

Heads-Up Notifications

The new updates will make Head-Up Notifications active. Incoming notifications like text messages will now appear on-screen, even when the user is using something else on the watch like directions or fitness stats.

Switching Watches Made Easier

User can pair their Android smartphone with more than one watch at a time using the Android Wear companion app. Now user can select watches from their favorite collection to suit costume and style.

Change Font Size

User can now adjust the font size of the Android Watch by navigating to watch's Setting.

Automatic Watch Screen Lock

The new update will automatically locks the watch's screen if it detects you are not wearing it for a period of time. To enable the automatic watch screen lock, just turn on the new Screen Lock feature form watch's settings.

How To Update Android Wear 5.1.1 OTA

Points to remember before installing Android Wear 5.1.1 on Watch

1. Developer options should be enabled on the watch. To enable developer option on the watch; navigate to watch Settings >> About >> and tap seven time on the Build Number to enable the developer option.

2. Turn on ADB debugging and setup computer with ADB loader to command.

3. The watch need to be connected to the PC, ensure the USB drivers are installed properly to the computer.

How to Install Android Wear 5.1.1 OTA updates to Android Watch.

Step 1: Boot the smartwatch into recovery mode. (Note: Please check watch's user manual for instruction, because method for booting into recovery mode may vary from one watch to another.

Step 2: Select 'Install Update from ADB' in watch recovery mode.

Step 3: Connect the watch to the computer. (Note: While some Android watches don't come with connecting port to connect USB cable, so users need to check watch's user manual for instruction on how to connect watch to computer.)

Step 4: After connecting watch to computer via USB cable, use the command < adb sideload [OTA filename].zip> (without tags) from the command prompt.
