Good news for Moto G users, Motorola is rolling out Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA (over-the-air) update for its first generation of Moto G model number XT1032.

The new OS update will come with number of improvements and enhanced features including new lock screen, enhanced notifications, new battery life indicator and Material Design UI.

Motorola is rolling out the update on a weekly basis and will make it available globally pretty soon. For those who can't wait for the OTA release, can install the update manually by this installation guide or can check for the update in the handset Settings >> Software Update.

Points to remember before installing Android 5.0.2 on Moto G (XT1032)

1. Backup all the important data, additional files and settings of the device.

2. Make sure that your Moto G has at least 80 percent or above battery charge to avoid power off during the installation process.

3. The OTG file provided for download is only for the first generation Moto G with model number XT1032, and running the latest stock Android KitKat firmware. Installing this firmware on other model could brick the device.

Step-by-Step Installation process for Moto G (XT1032)

Step 1: Copy the Downloaded files to the device.

Step 2: Boot to the recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Keys simultaneously.

Step 3: Once, the device starts booting, a warning Android Logo will appear in the middle of the screen.

Step 4: Press and hold Volume Up and Volume Down for few seconds and press and release Power key, while holding the two volume buttons.

Step 5: Now your device will boot into stock recovery mode with 'Android System Recovery' on top of the screen.

Step 6: Select 'Apply update from SDCard'

Step 7: Navigate to downloaded file and select using Power button.

Step 8: Wait for the installation to complete.

Step 9: Once the installation is complete, reboot the device from recovery mode.
