7 easy steps to Block Promotional Calls & SMSes on Your Mobile Phone
For all mobile users, the most irritating part is constant promotional calls and SMSes. How long can you keep avoiding them?
Sometimes it's easy to recognize a promotional call number, as most of them they start with '+9114XXX'. But its not always the case. And if you think of putting those numbers on black or reject list, trust us you might end up consuming your blacklist's storage, however, the calls will not stop. So what will you do?

Irrespective of network providers, Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance, Aircel, Idea, Tata or any other, the only option you can apply to get rid of unwanted promotional calls and messages is to activate Do Not Disturb mode.
Here is a way you can do so.
Check Your DND Status
You can activate Do Not Disturb service by just sending one SMS that may charge you a small amount. But before you do, check that whether it is already activated or not. You can go to dndstatus.com and enter your phone number. Once you hit submit, it'll automatically detect your
network operator and show you whether it is activated or not.
You also may call 1909 to enquire current status and know your DND registration date.
Codes for Activating DND Service for the Following Categories
To enroll in the National Do Not Call registry in India, you need to send SMS as per the following-
# 1 Type "START DND" or "START 0" and send to 1909 to fully block all promotional calls and SMSes.
#2 Send SMS "START 1" to 1909 for blocking banking, insurance, financial products or credit cards related promotions.

#3 SMS "START 2" to 1909 to block real estate related calls and SMSes.

#6 SMS "START 6" to block communication, broadcasting, entertainment, IT
promotions.
#7 Send SMS "START 7" to the above-mentioned number in order to block tourism and leisure promotions.
