Here, as the next step to the official version, we have brought you a hack that will allow you to add more than 256 members to a WhatsApp group.
Here's All You Need
Before you start the hack, you need to make sure your Android smartphone has the updated version of WhatsApp Messenger, ES File Explorer Pro, and ROOT access.
2. Let's Get Started
Step 1. Force stop WhatsApp messenger app. To perform so, go to settings > apps > running services > WhatsApp > force stop.
Step 2. Now open ES File Explorer and go to Root Explorer from the menu bar. Once you get it, mount 'RW'
Step 3. Next, go to /data/data/com.whatsapp/shared_prefs.
Step 4. Once you are here, open 'com.whatsapp_preferance.xml' using ES note editor.
Step 5. You'll find one line saying . Now edit the sentence and add one more 6 along with 256.
Step 6. Now save the file and close it. And try adding the 257th member in your WhatsApp group.
Step 7. Go to the group info and you're done!
