Note that WhatsApp Web will not open in the mobile website. So, you need to request for the desktop site. On doing so, WhatsApp Web will open on your second phone and it will display a QR code.
Activate WhatsApp Web on the first phone
On the first phone that runs the WhatsApp app, go to Settings →WhatsApp Web. Scan the QR code that is on the browser of the second phone using the camera on the first phone.
And, you're done!
That's it! You are done with using the same WhatsApp number on two different phones at the same time. You can use this method to use WhatsApp on a smartphone and a tablet or smartphone as per your requirement.
Please Note: To use WhatsApp on two different phones, both the devices should have WhatsApp installed in them. If you try to connect to a third device, the service will require you to log out of either one. Remember not to close the browser app on the second device.
