Avoid saving "Incoming media"
All the images and videos you receive through various chat conversations will be automatically stored to your gallery section on your smartphone. You can also choose to turn it off if you decide so! In case if you want to do it, just head on to Settings -> Chat Settings -> Turn off "Save Incoming Media" .
Hide message preview!
Whatsapp has the habit of sending the push notifications to alert you! You can turn off this feature if you wish too. All you need to do is to go to Settings -> Notifications -> turn off the Show Preview. Now you will just get a notification that says, "Message from Name" !

Automatic back up!
This IM has the ability to automatically backup all your chats and conversations at a specified time. You can do this on daily, weekly or monthly basis! Go to Settings -> Chat Settings -> Chat Backup!
Hide your last seen:
With this feature, you can disable the 'Last Seen' option on Whatsapp! You can do this by heading to Settings -> Account -> Privacy and select 'Nobody' under Last Seen option.

Disable blue ticks:
Sometimes, Blue ticks are really annoying, and that too, when you are not in the mood for a quick reply. Basically, the Blue ticks mean you already read the message! In order to disable the blue ticks, go to Account -> Privacy -> Uncheck Read Receipts box.
