With the advent of the internet and the browsers, productivity and social life of the people have changed exponentially. But the browsers added new features every now and then that made our online lives much easier to handle.
Some of these features we thought were introduced in this decade actually go way back in time. Here are 3 facts about the web browsers that you got wrong.

Tabs in browsers
If you all think that tabbed browsing was introduced by Opera browser or Firefox, then you got it wrong. It was way back in the 1990s that a company by the name BookLink Technologies introduced its own browser, InternetWorks. The rights to tabbed browsing were later bought by Microsoft integrate internet browsing within MS Word.
Extension in browsers
Google Chrome introduced us to the crazy use of extensions and add-ons. But it can take credit only to popularize the feature. So who created it? It was none other than Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5. In 1999, the Redmond giant brought the capability to its stock browser, but they were not as useful as the modern extensions available for Chrome.

InPrivate browsing
The Incognito mode was again only popularized by Google Chrome as it reached a large number of masses. But the true creator of this feature was the Safari browser from Apple.
