Back in the last week, Airtel was in the headlines for the announcement of the V-Fiber technology. This is a superfast fiber internet technology that the existing Airtel broadband customers can upgrade to.
Like Reliance Jio's GigaFiber broadband internet service, the Airtel V-Fiber also comes bundled with the three month free and unlimited calls (both local and STD) and internet. Basically, V-Fiber is a vectorization and fiber technology combination aimed to deliver superfast connectivity.
The Airtel broadband users need to upgrade to the V-Fiber service by just changing the modem. Its open to both existing and new users. Take a look at the key differences between Airtel V-Fiber and Reliance Jio GigaFiber broadband services from here.
Variety of plans to choose from
The Reliance Jio GigaFiber plans are categorized into two different segments - speed based plans and volume based plans. The plans start from Rs. 500 and go up to Rs. 5,000 and the FUP data limit that can be used is between 5 GB and unlimited. The Airtel V-Fiber service has plans starting from Rs. 999 and goes till Rs. 4,999 with the FUP of the data limit ranges from 50 GB to 1000 GB.
Speedwise, Reliance Jio GigaFiber sounds better
When it comes to the speed of the broadband service, the GigaFiber service from Reliance Jio sounds like a good option as it is likely to deliver up to 1 Gbps speed. On the other hand, the Airtel V-Fiber technology can render up to 100 Mbps speed. Anyways, we can expect the speed to drop after the commercial rollout of these services as in the case of Reliance Jio 4G.
Unlimited and free offers
It terms of free and unlimited offers, Reliance Jio GigaFiber plans come bundled with the Welcome Offer that gives users unlimited and free internet usage for 90 days. Likewise, the Airtel V-Fiber users can enjoy free and unlimited internet and voice calls to any network across the country for three months.
Fiber technology is beneficial
Both the fiber technology based broadband services are quite beneficial to the users with the freebies that are bundled with the plans and the superfast internet speed. With these services, users can enjoy browsing with lesser buffering, faster downloads, and ultra-reliable connectivity.
New Airtel broadband users can get refund
New customers who choose the Airtel V-Fiber service need to pay Rs. 1,000 as the one-time fee for the modem. If they are not satisfied with the service, then they can get their money refunded within one month of use.
