5 Tips to Take Care of Your Laptop with a Non-Removable Battery
These days, there are many laptops such as MacBooks, Chromebooks, and Ultrabooks that are designed to house non-removable and non-replaceable batteries. The non-removable batteries are becoming the norm irrespective of the price point of the laptops or the platform they are based on.
The reason for the incorporation of non-removable batteries is that the laptops can become sleeker and slimmer than before and their battery life can surpass the bulkier and replaceable batteries as well.

But, the downside is that the battery can die even when the other components of the battery are efficient and functioning. Eventually, the battery gives only a limited lifespan to the laptop. So, you need to take some precautions for your laptop with a non-removable battery to last for longer.
Prevent overheating of the laptop
The major factor that affects the laptop battery's lifespan is the temperature. Though the cold temperatures are an issue, high temperatures are a major concern. Apart from maintaining ambient working conditions, you need to ensure that you don't leave your laptop in your car that is parked under the sun.
Many such laptops with non-removable batteries use Intel Core M processor or other low power components that generate less heat. You need to ensure that the air circulation around the device is proper, and vents are clean. Try to keep the laptop under 35 degrees Celsius.
Know about Charging and Discharging
The most common question when it comes to laptops is whether to keep the laptop plugged in all the time or now. You need to do a bit of both actually. Batteries cannot be charged too much and so there is no direct damage, but it is important to ensure that charging is a source of heat.

Don't Discharge it below 20%
In case you are using the laptop on the battery power, you need to ensure that you don't discharge it below 20 percent often. This will affect the lifespan of the battery considerably.
Maintain the Charge Level
The charge level of the battery is very important even if the laptop is not in use. HP recommends that the laptop battery is charged between 50% and 70% even if it switched off.
Lifespan of your Laptop Battery
You need to get in terms with the fact that the laptop's battery capacity drops slightly with every single time it is charged. As per Asus, the battery lifespan is 300 to 500 charge cycles. Eventually, after 18 months of use, your laptop battery might not last as it did before.

Whether you like it or not, non-removable batteries are going to be the future of laptops. It is not a bad thing, but you need to be aware of how you need to take care of the battery as it is different than in the case of laptops with a removable battery. Just a few precautions that are mentioned above need to be taken to ensure that your laptop lasts longer.
