The year 2016 is up on us and we are all set to welcome the year with much gusto. 2015 was the year which registered the launch of many new products, and 2016 will not be any different. After the explosion of wearable segments and smart home technology in the year 2015, we expect a lot of new tech innovations and interesting gadgets getting unveiled in 2016.

Here we list down 10 devices that we expect to get launched in 2016.

Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Apple iPhone launch is undoubtedly highly anticipated event, every year. The new gen model of the iPhone, expected to be iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are in news for their rumored features and specs. It is expected that the next gen iPhones will get touch-sensitive home button instead of the mechanical home button, and Apple is likely to remove give away with the headphone jack to make it thinner. While these are just rumors and conjectures, the next generation iPhone will be a major upgrade from iPhone 6series.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Considering that Samsung brought a major design change in the Galaxy S6 series of smartphones, the expectations with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have grown higher. We are looking forward to see what Samsung holds for us in 2016.

Apple iPhone 6C

Besides the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, Apple is also rumored to be working on an iPhone 6C. This is expected to be a iPhone 5S replacement that will come with a small-screen but updated specs.

Oculus Rift

There will be a lot happening in virtual reality (VR) space in 2016. It is expected that Facebook-owned VR system Oculus Rift will be coming to market in early 2016. It is a VR headset that requires a PC to get connected, and will work with an Xbox controller.

HTC Vive

HTC's Vive is another virtual reality based headset that works with PC. HTC worked on this helmet with gaming company Valve. The HTC Vive was originally set to ship in 2015, however it got delayed and is now planned for Q2 of 2016.

Sony PlayStation VR

Sony too is all set to enter the VR segment with the launch of its PlayStation VR, earlier known as Project Morpheus. The device will work with Sony's Playstation 4 and is expected to get launched in first half of 2016.

Microsoft HoloLens

Microsoft HoloLens seems to be device that has come from a star-war sort of a science fiction. It is another much anticipated device that combines the virtual reality and augmented reality tech to put computer-generated objects into the user's line of sight. The Microsoft HoloLens development kit will be available in early 2016 for close to Rs 2Lacs.

Tesla Model 3
