HTC One M9

The last rumor we saw, suggested that March 1st HTC will announce HTC One M9, and a new HTC One Max with a bigger 5.5 or 5.7-inch display. HTC has thankfully removed the large aluminum and black bar bezels around the screen, and the HTC One M9 will have an edge-to-edge glass display, with both front facing boomsound speakers getting a redesign making them more compact and pushed to the top and bottom edge.

The biggest mystery that remains is the release date, and that's what most people are interested in. Reason being is because both the HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 will be announced on March 1st, so whoever is first to the show will have an edge over the other.

HTC One M9

If HTC follows the same strategy and plan as last year, they'll announce the HTC One M9 smartphone (and maybe a bigger brother) on March 1st, and release it the same day. Buyers can expect it to be available in international markets, carrier unlocked developer units, and more.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung continues to fan the flames around the Galaxy S6 design. Galaxy S6 design rumors have virtually all hinted at a premium design with metal and perhaps glass as well.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6 release date rumors say that it will be coming two to three weeks earlier than usual. Samsung's last two Galaxy S smartphones, the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4, both arrived in mid-April. So, if these rumors are spot on, we'd expect it to arrive in early April or late March.

Samsung Galaxy S6

We don't expect every single Galaxy S6 release date to fall on the same day. We expect Samsung to take an approach that it, Apple and other manufacturers have used throughout the years. That approach is a staggered release. This means some countries will get the device earlier than others. Samsung typically likes to focus on high impact markets like the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, China, India, Russia, and Korea.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung in particular is known for releasing its official accessories weeks after a device's initial release date. We expect to see a number of official accessories from Samsung make their debut on March 1st and we'd be surprised if all of them joined the Galaxy S6 on its release date. The Galaxy S6 is expected to have a solid accessory ecosystem but it will need time to grow.

Samsung Galaxy S6

The Galaxy S6 is expected to come in four colors. We don't expect all four of those colors to be available on all carriers and in all stores right from the get-go. Samsung's color options are always limited and often, they are exclusive to a carrier or retailer. We're expect two options to start with the other color options trickling out later in the year.

Samsung Galaxy S6

In the past week, we've seen a number of leaks point to the size of the Galaxy S6 battery. Photos from Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo appear to show a 2600 mAh battery for a Galaxy S6 variant. This leak followed a report from earlier in the week that outed the Galaxy S6 battery size as 2600 mAh, or, 200 mAh less than the Galaxy S5's battery. If Samsung does utilize a smaller battery for its Galaxy S6, it's a sign that the company is putting a whole lot of faith into its new Exynos 7 chip set that's expected to arrive inside the Galaxy S6.
