A New Brand, CFore Unveiled
CFore range will have a price in India ranging from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 14,000. An interesting bit of the news is the fact that CFore mobiles will only be touch phones according to Munnoth G'Five Chairman Jaswant Munoth. Mr. Munoth believes it is where the possibilities of success lie as touch phones currently hold a market share of 10 to 12 per cent and form the fastest growing sector in India. CFore touch phones target consumers belonging to the mid- and upper-segments. Munoth, in the first year of its sales, has set an aim of at least 50,000 units each month with an average price in India of Rs. 3,500.
Munoth said that the mobile phone market in India is worth Rs. 2 crores per month, and has admitted that the large chunk of this was made up models in the sub-Rs. 1000 range that boast a market share of 30 per cent. Closely following were models in the price bracket of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 that have a 20 per cent share. This means CFore, with its range of mobile phones priced from Rs. 2000 onwards, is heading for largely uncharted waters in its aim to become a leading player.
But Munoth says that's a decision that has been consciously taken, especially since China's largest exported brand of mobile phones and Munoth G'Five venture partner G'Five has earned itself the distinction of being second largest selling brand after Nokia in India, according to IDC reports that Mr. Munoth quoted.
Munoth G'Five has already partnered with after sales service provider World Ace in order to ensure it lacks nothing in quality customer care and wins the early support of customers. This is an important move that could work wonders in strengthening the brand. Already there have been 550 service centers opened in India, spread out through the Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities.
Every newly-launched mobile or consumer electronics brand invariably has a celebrity to endorse it. The brand ambassador announcement hasn't been made yet, and Mr. Munoth was tight-lipped too. But rumors confirm that there will be celebrity endorser for the brand with the most likely candidates being Bollywood ace Imran Khan and cricket player Suresh Raina.
The new range of mobile phones and tablets will be launched before Diwali, in order to capitalize on the festive season purchase frenzy of consumers.
