While it is expected that Major Tech consumer goods manufacturers will showcase their best devices at the upcoming IFA 2012 event to be held in Berlin from Aug 31 to Aug 5.
However, Acer has taken a different approach as the tech manufacturer has announced two new budget han dsets ahead of the event itself, namely – A cer Liquid Gallant Solo and Acer Liquid Gallant Duo. These wallet friendly smartphones have almost the same features with the only difference being the latter one featuring dual SIM functionality.
Whats Under the Hood?
Acer Liquid Gallant Solo and Duo will come packed with a host of common features including 4.3 inch display, 5 mega pixel rear camera, 1GHz processor and standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and Wi-Fi. Moreover, the handsets will run on Android ICS operating system, which would give benefits like smoother and customizable user-interface, improved notifications module and improved lock screen and software preloads.
Further, the memory storage options of Acer Liquid Gallant Solo and Duo will also be the same. Both models are expected to come with 4GB built-in storage and 1GB RAM system memory. Meanwhile, users will also be offered to expand their memory with the help of MicroSD card slot.
Price and Release Date
As of now, reportedly it has been informed that Acer will be displaying its new creations at its booth in IFA Berlin between August 31 and September 5 and will start shipping the Liquid Gallant Duo soon afterwards. Its single Sim handset – Acer Liquid Gallant Solo will follow a bit later.
They will be available in mainly two colors namely Gentle Black and Ceramic White colours.
On the price front, Acer has not revealed any information. However, according to Android Anuthority reports, the dual SIM model, Acer Gallant Duo will be available at an expected price tag of $230 (approximately Rs.13,000) without any contract in USA.
