ADCOM Launches Budget Android Phones in India: Price Starts at Rs 3199

The kindled war between Indian smartphone manufacturers seem to be overgrowing. Technology products importer Advantage Computers India Pvt Ltd (ADCOM) on Tuesday launched a range of affordable android powered smartphones in India. Advantage Computers Pvt Ltd, popularly known as ADCOM, has launched its Thunder series of six smartphones. This is also another big step for the brand as these devices are all budget smartphone. The smartphones and phablet launched include A-530 HD, A-500,A-450, A-430, A-400 and A-350 and these are priced between Rs 3,199 and Rs 8,999.

 

The lower end devices with lower price runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform while the higher ones run on Android Jelly Bean, v4.1.

The most high-end version is the ADCOM Thunder A530 HD. It has a 5.3 inch HD display and is powered by a dual-core processor clocked to 1Ghz backed by 512MB RAM. Being a dual SIM smartphone, it supports 2G/3G hot spot functionality. The device houses 4GB of internal storage plus a memory card slot which supports up to 32GB. The device has 8MP camera with Panorama,,

Reportedly, Sanjeev Bhatia, Founder & Chairman, ADCOM, said "In another month's time, we plan to launch a quad-core processor smartphone in the price-bracket of Rs 10,000. For the first three months, we will be selling smartphones in the northern part of India. We will expand our operation to the East followed by the rest of the India thereafter. We also aim to sell 100,000 smartphones during the first year."

Starting at a price range as low as Rs 3,199, it goes up to Rs 8,999, these phones are within the reach of the common man, who wants a smartphone with almost all the features that come in a premium handset, he added. The company also claimed that a large battery, HD screen and pre-loaded apps are going to be the USP of these devices.

Adcom has managed to incorporate an 8 MP rear shooter and 2 MP front-facing camera on one of their devices. It comes with dual-SIM support, offers Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS and micro-USB for connectivity. Adcom has loaded the Thunder with a 2,800 mAh battery which may be compared to other high end phones.

It was also reported that the company was looking at a revenue target of Rs 1 billion in this financial year.
