Alcatel and Flipkart to Launch Idol X Plus on May 29

One of the biggest online retail sites Flipkart has already been running the show in mobile phone business by partnering with Motorola. The company launched the best of the handsets like the Moto G, Moto E and Moto X in the country and now the e-commerce site has inked an agreement with TCL Communication's smartphone brand Alcatel to launch the latter's new Idol X+ smartphone in the Indian market.

Very much like the Moto G and Moto E, Flipkart will be exclusively retailing the Idol X+ smartphone. The handset was originally unveiled in December 2013 in China and it was also showcased at the CES 2014 in January. The Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ would be launched in Blueish Black and White colors in India on May 29.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ features a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display. It is powered by a 2 GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor with Mali 400 GPU and is coupled with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS.

It comes with a very good imaging capability as it features a 13MP auto focus rear camera with LED Flash which is capable of shooting video at 1080p Full HD quality and also a 2MP front facing shooter is present in the phone.

Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi direct Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It comes with a Dual SIM support with dual standby mode as well.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ comes with a native storage capacity of 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The handset, which measures 140.4×69.1×7.9mm and weighs 125g comes powered by a 2500 mAh battery.

The companies have not spoken about the pricing of the handset so far. However, in China the handset was priced at 1,999 yuan, which would be directly translating into Rs. 18,858.
